West Allotment Celtic ended their Northern League season with a defeat, losing 3-0 to Dunston in their final division one tie at Whitley Park.
Goals from Ryan Drane, Richard Slaughter and Dan Halliday in the space of six first-half minutes ensured a comfortable victory against a relegated West Allotment.
The result means Allotment finish bottom of division one before they begin next season in division two.
Dunston broke the deadlock in the 10th minute as Drane’s long range effort sailed under the body of Allotment goalkeeper Chris Bannon.
The away side doubled their advantage in brilliant style as Slaughter struck a fabulous strike from 25 yards which flew into the net via the underside of the crossbar.
Dunston’s Dan Halliday added a quick third after Lewis Thear produced a low driven cross into the path of the left back before calmly placing the ball beyond Bannon.
In the second half, Dunston introduced Warren Byrne into the game, with the striker causing problems for the Allotment defence.
The striker was denied by Bannon after attempting to round the goalkeeper before firing his strike towards Bannon’s body.
Byrne had another key opportunity to get on the scoresheet after his audacious chip was palmed away from danger by Bannon.
